Message The original engines all had really bad seal problems which could be improved with the use of better seals during engine rebuilds. The typical original engine only lasted between 50 and 80k miles. Turbos were typically gone before 90K. So as far as my car went...it's timing was about right for everything. The only thing about those cars is that you have to know exactly what you're doing to be able to work on them...they're very touchy. I still loved the car though and one day when I have the money I'll own one again. And if anybody has any questions about 3rd gens I've had a good deal of experience with them so I'll be glad to help.
